BEHIND IT

Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that works by exfoliating the skin, which helps to unclog pores and reduce the formation of blackheads and whiteheads. Once inside the pores, it dissolves the intercellular "glue" that binds dead skin cells together, facilitating their removal. This exfoliation prevents the clogging of pores and helps to clear out existing clogs.

By keeping the pores clear, salicylic acid reduces the formation of comedones (blackheads and whiteheads). Salicylic acid has anti-inflammatory properties that help to soothe and reduce the redness and swelling associated with acne lesions.
